Hiking Brainard Lake
The other weekend my friend Tom and I headed up to Brainard Lake. The area wasn't open yet, but we took side trails through dense forest. In some parts it was like hiking through a swamp, but we enjoyed the challenge of log jumping and manuvering. Tom got my hopes up more then once that we would see moose. Despite the beauitful lakes, snow and other forms of animal life we did not see any moose. So we will be going up there again soon so I can spot my frist moose out in the wild.
This was a gorgeous hike that I would suggest to any one. The trail is easy to follow by just looking for the color coded diamonds on the trees. Apparently late June is when most of the landscape is covered in wild flowers. So besides being on the hunt for moose there is also the natural beauty of flowers and mountains to look forward too.
